This recipe is a simplification of traditional
Jamaican Jerk Chicken. It combines salty and sweet flavors
to create a delicious healthy chicken dish.
Ingredients - 1/2 LB of Boneless Chicken
- 1 TBSP of Maple Sugar
- 3 TBSP Soy Sauce
- 1/4 Cup Red Onion
- 1 TBSP Fresh Chopped Garlic
- 1 Serrano Pepper Chopped (or chilli pepper flakes) (Optional)
- 1/2 TSP of lemon pepper
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix Maple Sugar, Soy Sauce, Onion, Garlic, Serrano Pepper and Lemon Pepper.
- Set to the side.
- Cut chicken into slices (if broiling) or keep whole (if grilling) and add to the marinade.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (if chicken is sliced) or up to 4 hours (if chicken is whole). The longer the marination the more flavorful the chicken.
- Broil the chicken in the oven for 10-15 minutes in sauce
OR
- Grill until the center is white and cooked.
